A Private White House Tour

Private tour of the White House
We've all grown up idolizing landmarks that represented more than the actual structure itself. One of those landmarks to me is the White House; it's the epicenter of the world that we live in today.
Growing up I saw it as this untouchable place that I, frankly, wasn't worthy enough to be near, let along be in. In my head I wasn't a head of state, dignitary, or a big enough deal to warrant even thinking of visiting such an important place.
Needless to say, it was an honor and privilege getting an invite to have a private tour of the White House. Being in the White House is surreal, that's the best way I can put it. There is so much history that was made at the very spot I was standing. What made it more eerily unfathomable was that it was literally just me, Beth (my wife), and our guide roaming around unimpeded. The whole time I was roaming around I compared what I've seen on TV with what I was standing right in front of. At one point I was in the washroom next to the Oval Office looking in the mirror as I washed my hands thinking to myself....who would have ever thought that this kid born in Kuwait and grew up in a basement in Ashland, Ohio would be standing in one of the most iconic place in history. It goes to show that anything is possible...!
